HUMAN RIGHTS DAY FORUM 2024

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Legal Affairs Division in the Prime Minister’s Department, the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (SUHAKAM) and the United Nations in Malaysia is co-organizing the Human Rights Day Forum 2024 under the theme of Empowering Our Rights, Securing Our Future: Business Responsibility for People and Nation”.

The Forum is an opportunity to reflect on Malaysia’s focus on aligning economic growth with human rights principles and its commitment to aligning business practices with international human rights standards, particularly the United Nations Guiding Principles (UNGPs) on Business and Human Rights. The Forum will bring together prominent speakers to deliberate key areas such as Malaysia’s regional leadership in Business and Human Rights (BHR), discuss ways to monitor the implementation of the National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights (NAPBHR) and success stories from  businesses that have implemented human rights due diligence (HRDD) as well as exploring ways businesses can measure their social impact while balancing financial goals.
