As the 2030 Agenda enters its decisive phase, the work of the UN Development System and the Resident Coordinator System was crucial in helping countries move the needle on the Sustainable Development Goals and guarantee peace and prosperity for communities around the world.

The "System-wide Results to Advance the SDGs" provides a snapshot on how UN teams contributed to SDG results at the country level in 2025. Pooling together individual and collective UN entity results in over 160 countries and territories, this captures the work of the the UN Sustainable Development Group (UNSDG) members.

This compilation is a part of the 2026 Report of the Chair of the UNSDG capturing the progress and the impacts of the Development Coordination Office and the RC System. The report captures a comprehensive body of evidence, highlightng the efforts of the RC system to coordinate and convene the support of the UN Development System at the country level.  

Operating across more than 160 countries and territories, Resident Coordinators and their Offices provide the central leadership function of the UN development system — aligning UN teams behind national priorities, facilitating integrated policy and financing solutions, and driving coherence at a time of unprecedented global pressure.

RCs align entities behind national priorities, facilitate partnerships to scale up development support, bridge humanitarian and development action in crisis settings, promote transparency and accountability for results, and advance system-wide efficiencies. Their convening authority adds value well beyond the cost of coordination.
