Resident Coordinator's speech: Closing of the WOWED Project – Women of Will

Selamat pagi semua! 

Saya sangat berbesar hati berada di sini hari ini, melihat wajah-wajah hebat penuh semangat. 

Tahniah kepada semua puan-puan atas kejayaan anda!

It is a true honour to be here with all of you today—to celebrate your journey, your hard work, and your success in the Women of Will – Empowering Women to Empower Their Communities programme, or as we lovingly call it, WOWED.

This wonderful programme was made possible through the funding of the Malaysia–UN SDG Trust Fund, a partnership between the Government of Malaysia, the United Nations in Malaysia, and Yayasan MySDG.

Over the past 18 months, something truly special has happened. 

What began as a small idea—to help 200 women from PPR communities in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor—has grown into a powerful story of strength, courage, and hope.

You have learned new skills. You have built your own businesses. 

You have supported each other like sisters. But most of all—you have proven that women can do anything when given the chance. 

Wanita boleh! 

I have heard stories that make me very proud. Like Kak Mazni, who turned her love for making muruku into a real business. And Noraniza, who grew her home food business into a successful company. 

These are not just business stories—these are stories of bravery and heart.

This success happened because everyone worked together—the community, Women of Will, Thrive Well, and many partners who believe in you. When we join hands, big things can happen.

Kejayaan anda tidak berakhir disini……..ia bermula disini. 

You now have the skills, the confidence, and the strength to continue growing. You are leaders in your families and communities. 

You are changemakers, and your journey will inspire many other women.

Let’s keep going, together. Let us make sure every woman has a chance to rise, to grow, and to shine.
